This 25” by 25” oil painting is my metaphor for the children. A baby watches a “quiet and beautiful” sunrise over a snowy village, yet flames fall outside and candles burn inside, blending into the sky. A reminder that even peaceful scenes can hide danger.

Some of the paintings found their homes 🙏. DM or email me for the catalog for the available paintings.

These photos were from the installation for the Studio-tour, just one day before the show. I was stressed about how to select and group my paintings to create a better layout. I completely blanked out for a while, staring at the empty wall, putting in and taking out the same nails ten times just to find the right spacing. If I had known how wonderful the show would turn out, I probably wouldn’t have been so anxious! It was a year of work, weeks of planning, and half a day of installation—but it was totally worth it.

People were so kind—their smiles and words were the best encouragement. I’m deeply thankful for everyone who stopped by, and shared their thoughts—it meant so much to me. Even though we didn’t know each other, the art connected us, and that felt empowering.

A big thanks to the committee @studiotoursoma @mmarkatos for promoting the event so well and for connecting local artists with the community. I also loved showing with my fellow artists @jmalonepaintings @almost.daily.by.dbee @samardesignsandart @luisalvescollage, Burt Solomon —I learned so much from everyone, and I really felt the good company and support.

And I’m especially glad that some of my paintings found new homes—thank you!
